Seed rate:-  For 1 hectare 4 kg to 5 kg seeds are enough.  Soil and Climate:- ideal soil type Sandy Loam or loamy soil, well drained, rich in organic matters.  PH :- 6 - 7 is ideal for pumpkin farming.  Pumpkin plants are sensitive to acidic soil.  Need long warm season, but they can withstand cold temperatures as well.  The ideal range are 25 to 30°c.
